Happy Anniversary to us

It's our 3rd year wedding anniversary tomorrow (Tuesday). Happy Anniversary to us. I spent some time yesterday going through our wedding album remembering the day and decided to share some of my favourite photos.

Here is my nervous hubby after he finished getting ready, who arrived almost late due to some last minute transport dramas.
And this was the last minute transport drama. The boat we organised could not take Alastair to Balmoral as the water was too rough. The day before the wedding, the weather was horrendous. My Mum hung a broom in a tree in the backyard to get rid of the bad weather, which may have worked because there was no rain until the evening.

I love this photo with the days newspaper and the order of service. It inspired me to keep the newspaper the day Oliver was born so he can look back on it in years to come to see what happened the day he was born.

A nervous bride awaits. Gosh I remember the butterflies, thank god for rescue remedy.

The handmade wedding invitations which my clever sisters made each one had hand picked shells from Narrabeen beach on them. The theme was summery and beachy.

The bridesmaid dresses and shoes. The dresses reflected the colour of the sea. Each dress had a brooch on the dress and all had different styled dresses.

My dress was an antique rose colour made by Luci DiBella. I will never forget the experience of getting a made to measure dress and they went out of their way to help me from 12,000 miles away even having Luci herself contact me and measure me out.

We got married under that rotunda right near the beach at Balmoral. We love it there and was the perfect place for us to exchange vows.

This is probably my favourite photo from the day. I had to get my feet on the sand for some photos, I think beach photos make for great memories.

Going from Balmoral to the reception we had the right boat as the water was calmer. We had to get the photo with the Sydney Harbour Bridge behind us and the ferris wheel at Luna Park.

These were the flowers on the bridal table. I was so impressed with the flowers that Jo Reid decorated. I only decided about a week before the wedding what to have. Every other flower I wanted was not in season. We had 3 different flowers which we used on alternate tables. All similar colours. The guests got to take the flowers home with them.

This was the chocolate cake we went with. It was yummo delicio. We had noodle boxes for the guests to put their cake in if they wanted to take it home.

This was the menu that was on display at the entrance. You probably can't read it but on offer was:
Starter: Seafood Antipasto Platter or Thai influenced Beef Salad. I had the second option.
Main: Prime Fillet of Beef on lyonnaise potatoes or Barbequed Breast of chicken with Mango. I had the Beef (again). If I could change one thing from the day, I would have had the chicken.
Dessert: Fresh strawberries in a dark chocolate heart or Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta. I had the strawberries.
What did you eat Penny?

The place tags which my sisters also made to match the invitations. Each name tag had the persons name meaning and origin of their name which got everyone talking.

The table names were all beach names. The bridal tables name was Balmoral Beach (where we were married).

This was the treasure chest where everyone placed their gifts of money and cards.

We had a glass vase with shells at the bottom asking of it where the guests were to leave a special note to us.

Ahhhh, the wonderful memories. I wish we could do it all over again. Actually, if we did, I would probably do it all different though even though I loved everything about it.
