My boys are sure getting older and therefore keeping me on my toes. This time of the year is always hectic but my god, it just seems to be getting busier with children. Between school orientations, doctors appointments, Christmas shopping, having family time, play dates, birthday parties and adding into the equation Christmas parties life is busy. Oh and don't forget swimming lessons, overseas visitors and the general day to day activities.
We have decided to send Oliver to school so the uniforms have been ordered and now that we have made the decision, I know we have done the right thing for Oliver. Alot of research now indicates that it is not always beneficial to hold your child back if they are ready to start school. Three school prinicpals looked at Oliver and all agreed, he is ready to start. He is wanting to read and learn so we have decided to bite the bullet.
Felix has been to the doctors more times then I like to remember. He has had hand, foot and mouth disease which is rife in Sydney at the moment but one incident two weeks ago made me realise my little baby is going to have to be one tough cookie. Practising his running skills down our drive way, he was leaning against the gate waiting for his command from his big brother to 'ready set go' and he fell over. As I walked up to assist him, I realise some metal wire we had against the gate had stabbed him in the ankle. I panicked as I had to pull the darn thing out. I raced the poor guy up to our doctor to make sure they could assure me that everything was alright and I wasn't a bad mother.
With some tender loving care and hugs and kisses from his Mummy, he recovered pretty well. He wouldn't walk on it for a day and then had a limp for about a week but now he is back to normal and hopefully we can avoid the doctors for a while. {though we are off there on Friday for his 18 month immunisation shots. ouch}.
Apart from that. Life is pretty good. Christmas is coming and shhhh don't tell anyone but we put the Christmas tree up on the weekend.
